Sori Yanagi Is An Iconic Japanese Designer And Architect, Born In Tokyo In 1915. His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Was An Important Figure In The Mingei (Japanese Folk Art) Movement, Which Valued Hand-Crafted Art Of Everyday People And Sought To Bring Beauty Into The Ordinary. He Also Helped Establish The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan. Sori Yanagi Studied Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In 1934 And Was Inspired By The Works Of Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand. He Is Well-Known For His Post-Wwii Designs, Which Include Furniture, A Three-Wheeled Vehicle, An Olympic Cauldron, A Pedestrian Overpass, And Even A Water Kettle. His Most Famous Designs Include The Butterfly Chair From 1954 And A Series Of Porcelain And Silverware. The Sori Yanagi Fork Is Manufactured By Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd, Located In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. This Company Is The Center Of Cutlery And Steel Manufacturing And Produces Most Of Sori Yanagi'S Kitchenware And Tableware.
