Yamada Kogyosho, Y.K. Is A Family-Owned Craft Factory, Established In 1957 In Yokohama, Japan. It Is The Only Manufacturer Of Hammered Woks In The Country. Their Round Bottom Woks Are Highly Valued By Professionals For Their Top Notch Quality. Each Wok Is Made One By One And Boasts A Unique Hammered Surface, Which Is Different From The One Of Pressed Woks. When It Comes To Use And Care, Yamada Woks Are Regularly Stocked In An Unseasoned Form And Covered With An Anti-Rust Protective Coating. In Order To Make It Ready For Use, The Coating Must Be Burned Off By Heating The Wok And Then Washing It With Detergent. After That, Stir-Frying Vegetable Scraps Is Recommended.
Alternatively, Pre-Seasoned Woks Are Also Available And They Are Made-To-Order. The Woks Are Finished With Cooking Oil Instead Of The Anti-Rust Coating And The Delivery Takes 5-10 Weeks. After That, The Wok Must Be Washed With Detergent And Stir-Frying Vegetable Scraps Is Recommended.
