Hikiyose Is A Unique Wooden Product Made By Combining Modern Design With Two Traditional Japanese Manufacturing Techniques: Kijibiki And Yosegi. Kijibiki Is A Woodworking Technique Which Shapes Wooden Material Into A Bowl Using An Edged Tool And Lathe. Yosegi Is A Wooden Mosaic Work Which Combines Different Types Of Wood Pieces. Designed By Kaichiro Yamada Of Kaichi Design, Hikiyose Was Awarded A Good Design Award In 2014.

Using And Caring For Your Hikiyose

To Ensure Your Hikiyose Lasts For Years To Come, Please Take Care When Using And Storing It. Here Are Some Important Things To Keep In Mind:

• Avoid Long-Term Exposure To High Temperatures, Extreme Dryness, Direct Sunlight, And Humidity, As These May Cause Cracking Or Deformation.
• Strong Impacts Or Falls May Cause Cracking Or Breaking. Also, Avoid Using Hard Scourers Or Sponges.
• Abrasive Agents Such As Thinner And Benzine May Cause The Coating To Come Off.
• Hikiyose Is Not Compatible With Gas Stoves, Microwaves, Or Dishwashers.
• Do Not Soak Hikiyose In Water For Long Periods Of Time, As This May Cause Cracking Or Bending.
• Avoid Leaving Food Inside Or Keeping It Wet, As This May Cause Staining, Mold, Or Bacteria Proliferation.
• If You Are Concerned About The Smell When First Using Hikiyose, Pour Hot Water Inside And Wait Three Minutes, Then Drain And Wipe It Well Before Using.
• When Cleaning, Use A Soft Sponge And Neutral Detergent Dissolved In Warm Water, Then Dry It Off With A Cloth.
