Sori Yanagi, Born In Tokyo, Japan In 1915, Was Greatly Influenced By His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Who Promoted The Mingei (Japanese Folk Art) Movement, Which Valued Hand-Crafted Art Of Ordinary People And Discovered Beauty In Everyday Objects. This Led To The Establishment Of The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan.
Studying Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In 1934, Sori Yanagi Was Inspired By Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand, And Focused His Attention On Design And Objects Rather Than Paintings And Buildings. After World War Ii, He Created Many Different Products Such As Furniture, Three-Wheeled Vehicles, The Olympic Cauldron, And Pedestrian Overpasses.
In 1955, The Nihon Yoshokki Co. Ltd. Was Founded In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, The Center Of Steel Manufacturing. It Is The Manufacturer Of Most Of Sori Yanagi'S
