The Innovative Kitchen Tool Was Designed By The Renowned Japanese Designer Sori Yanagi (1915-2011). He Was Inspired By His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Who Was A Renowned Promoter Of Japanese Folk Art And A Founder Of The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan.
Sori Yanagi Was Educated In Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In 1934. His Designs Included Furniture, Three-Wheeled Vehicles, Olympic Cauldrons And Pedestrian Overpasses. His Most Famous Designs Include The Butterfly Chair From 1954 And His Series Of Porcelain And Silverware. These Iconic Designs Are Still Manufactured By Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
