Ohitsu Container: Traditional Japanese Cooking Tool

The Ohitsu Is A Traditional Wooden Container With A Slip-On Lid, Used Mainly For Keeping Steamed Rice Out Of Rice Cookers In Good Condition. This Container Is Made Of The Wood From The Kiso Region, Named “Sawara”, Which Has Been Used To Make Japanese Traditional Cooking Tools Such As “Hangiri (Handai)” And “Ohitsu” Since The Ancient Days. Furthermore, The Sawara Wood Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Trees, Making It Water-Resistant And Durable With Natural Antibacterial Effects. The Container Is Beautifully Crafted With Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation, Giving It A Sophisticated Appearance.
