The Ohitsu Is A Wooden Container With A Slip-On Lid, Designed To Keep Steamed Rice From Rice Cookers Fresh And Delicious. It Is Crafted From Sawara Wood From The Kiso Region, A Type Of Wood That Has Been Used To Make Traditional Japanese Cooking Tools For Centuries. The Sawara Wood Is High In Resin, Making It More Water-Resistant And Durable Than Other Types Of Wood, With Natural Antibacterial Effects. The Ohitsu Has A Beautiful Masame Pattern And Copper Ornamentation That Adds A Touch Of Sophistication. It Is Available In Two Varieties: Edobitsu And Nosebitsu, Which Differ In Terms Of The Shape Of The Lid. To Ensure Your Ohitsu Remains In Good Condition, It Should Be Washed With Hot Water After Use And Dried In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Area Away From Direct Sunlight. Resin May Ooze Out Of The Surface, But This Is Harmless And Can Be Wiped Off With Vinegar Or Sterilizing Alcohol. Dishwashers Should Not Be Used. Yamacoh Co., Ltd. Was Founded In 1972 In Nakatsugawa, Gifu, Japan. The City Was Once A Post Town Between Edo (Tokyo) And Kyoto During The Edo Period (1603-1868). The Company Has Been Committed To Producing Traditional Japanese Cooking Tools Made From Sawara Wood For Over Four Generations.
