Features

This Lid Is The Perfect Complement To A Hangiri - It Is Handmade By Artisans In The Traditional Methods Of Japan'S Kiso Region, With Beautiful Masame (Straight-Grain) Patterns And Copper Ornamentation Giving It A Sophisticated Appearance. It Is Crafted From Sawara Wood, Which Has Been Used For Centuries In The Making Of Traditional Japanese Cooking Tools Such As Hangiri And Ohitsu, Renowned For Its Water Resistance And Durability.

Use & Care

As The Wood Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Trees, It Can Sometimes Ooze Out On The Surface. This Is A Natural Ingredient, And Can Easily Be Wiped Off With Vinegar Or Ethanol Liquid (Sterilizing Alcohol). After Use, The Lid Should Be Washed With Hot Water To Remove Any Food Residue, Then Dried In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Place Out Of Direct Sunlight. Leaving Water On The Lid Can Cause It To Shrink, Cracks And Loosen The Surrounding Copper Ornamentation. It Is Not Suitable For Dishwashers.
