Edo Kiriko - A Traditional Japanese Craftwork

Edo Kiriko Is A Traditional Japanese Craftwork That Has Been Officially Designated As A National Heritage. This Craft Was Developed In Downtown Tokyo During The Edo Period (1603-1867). The Glass Is Melted At 1350 Degrees And Then Plated With Colored Glass To Create Two Layers. Afterwards, The Glass Is Cut By Hand And Then Curved With Fine Designs By Craftsmen Using Their Remarkable Technique. This Results In Two Shades Of Contrasting Colors, Which Reflect The Light Beautifully And Are Accentuated By The Traditional Or Flower Patterns Curved On The Surface.

Features Of Edo Kiriko

  • Black Edo Kiriko Has A Simple And Modern Design, Yet It Gives A Strong Impression Due To The Deep Black Color.
  • This Old Fashioned Glass Is Perfect For Serving Single Malt Whisky, Japanese Shochu Or Sake.
  • It Has Been Nominated As The Best Traditional Art Craft In A Tokyo Competition.

Use &Amp; Care

  • Since These Products Are All Hand Made, There May Be Slight Differences In Color And Size, As Well As Small Bubbles Or Scratches. However, These Do Not Affect The Quality Of The Products And Should Be Seen As A Unique Feature.
  • Handle With Care As It Is Fragile.
