Hikiyose Is A Wooden Product Made By A Combination Of Modern Designs And Two Traditional Manufacturing Techniques: "Kijibiki" And "Yosegi". The Former Involves Shaping Wooden Material Into A Bowl Using An Edged Tool And Lathe, While The Latter Involves Creating Wooden Mosaic Pieces With Different Types Of Wood.
Designed By Kaichiro Yamada, Kaichi Design, Hikiyose Won A Good Design Award In 2014.
In Order To Ensure Durability And Longevity, Hikiyose Should Not Be Exposed To High Temperatures, Extreme Dryness, Direct Sunlight, Or Strong Impacts, Which Can Cause Cracking Or Deformation. Additionally, It Should Not Be Cleaned With Hard Scourers, Sponges, Thinner, Or Benzine, As These Can Cause The Coating To Come Off. Hikiyose Is Also Not Compatible With Gas Stoves, Microwaves, Ovens, Or Dishwashers. It Should Also Be Avoided To Be Soaked In Water For Extended Periods Of Time.
After Use, It Is Recommended To Wash It With A Soft Cloth And Neutral Detergent Dissolved In Warm Water, And Then Dry It With A Cloth. To Reduce The Smell, Pour Hot Water In The Bowl And Wait Three Minutes Before Draining And Wiping. In Order To Prevent Staining, Mold, Or Bacteria Proliferation, Food Should Not Be Left In The Bowl Or Kept Wet.
Hikiyose Is Manufactured By La Luz Inc., Founded In 1994 In Kanagawa, Japan. The Factory Is Located In Odawara, Kanagawa.
