Hikiyose Is An Exquisite Wooden Product Made From A Combination Of Modern Design And Two Traditional Manufacturing Techniques, “Kijibiki” And “Yosegi”. Kijibiki Is The Skill Of Shaping Wooden Materials Into A Bowl Using An Edged Tool And Lathe. Yosegi Is A Form Of Wooden Mosaic Works Which Combines Different Types Of Wood Pieces. Designed By Kaichiro Yamada Of Kaichi Design, Hikiyose Won The Good Design Award In 2014.
Hikiyose Is Delicate And Requires Proper Use And Care To Last. Avoid Long-Term Exposure To High Temperatures, Humidity, Extreme Dryness, And Direct Sunlight As It May Cause Cracking Or Deformation. It Is Not Compatible With Gas Stoves, Microwaves, Ovens, Or Dishwashers. Do Not Soak It In Water For Long Periods Of Time, As This May Cause It To Crack Or Bend. Moreover, Never Leave Food Inside The Product Or Keep It Wet As It May Cause Staining, Mold, Or Bacteria Proliferation. If You Mind The Smell At First Use, Pour Hot Water In It And Wait For 3 Minutes, Then Drain And Wipe It Before Use. After Use, Wash It With A Soft Sponge And Neutral Detergent Dissolved In Warm Water, And Dry With A Cloth.
