The Ohitsu Is A Traditional Wooden Container With A Lid, Used To Keep Steamed Rice Fresh And Soft For Longer. Made Of Sawara Wood, Renowned For Its Use In Japanese Kitchen Tools, This Container Is Handmade By Japanese Professionals In A Traditional Method. Its Beautiful Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation Grant It With A Sophisticated Appearance. Sawara Wood Is Naturally Grown And Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Trees, Making It Highly Water-Resistant And Durable With Antibacterial Effects. There Are Two Types Of Ohitsu: Edobitsu And Nosebitsu, Distinguished By The Shape Of The Lid. To Ensure That The Ohitsu Lasts Long, It Should Be Adequately Washed And Wiped Off With A Dry Cloth After Use. It Should Then Be Dried In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Place Away From Direct Sunlight. If Water Is Not Completely Wiped Off Before Drying, The Wood Will Shrink And Cause Cracks And Loosening Of The Surrounding Copper Ornamentation. Yamacoh Co., Ltd. Was Founded In 1972 In Nakatsugawa, Gifu, Japan. During The Edo Period (1603–1868), Nakatsugawa Was A Post Town Between Edo (Tokyo) And Kyoto. The Company Has Been Producing Quality Products With Traditional Methods Ever Since.
