Features

The Traditional Japanese Wooden Sushi Bowl Known As A "Hangiri" Or "Handai" Is Designed For Serving Nigiri/Chirashi Sushi Or Creating Vinegared Rice. Crafted From Sawara Wood In Kiso, Japan, These Handmade Bowls Feature A Beautiful, Straight-Grain Pattern And Copper Ornamentation. Sawara Wood Is A Popular Material For Kitchen Tools Due To Its Natural Water-Resistance, Durability, And Antibacterial Properties.

Use &Amp; Care

It Is Normal For Resin To Seep Out Of The Wood, Creating A Yellowish, Sticky Residue. This Is Harmless And Can Be Removed With A Vinegar Or Ethanol Solution. Though Some Yellow Stains May Remain, The Bowl Is Still Safe To Use. After Each Use, The Hangiri Should Be Washed With Hot Water To Remove All Food Particles, Which Can Cause Black Staining If Left Behind. Once Washed, Dry The Bowl With A Cloth And Let It Air Dry In A Cool, Ventilated Area Away From Direct Sunlight. If Left Wet, The Wood Can Shrink, Crack, Or Get Black-Stained. It Is Not Recommended To Use A Dishwasher For Cleaning.
