The Sori Yanagi Kettle Has Been Designed With The Utmost Care And Attention To Detail. It Features An Ergonomically Curved Handle For A Comfortable Grip, And Is The Proud Recipient Of The Good Design Award 1998. The Designer Of This Beautiful Kettle Was Sori Yanagi, Born In Tokyo, Japan In 1915. His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Was A Passionate Promoter Of Mingei (Japanese Folk Art), Believing That All Kinds Of Everyday Objects Could Be Crafted Into Beautiful Works Of Art. His Enthusiasm Was So Great That He Helped To Establish The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan. Sori Studied Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In 1934, And Was Deeply Inspired By Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand. After World War Ii, He Created A Range Of Products, Including Furniture, Vehicles, An Olympic Cauldron, And A Pedestrian Overpass. His Most Famous Designs Include The Butterfly Chair In 1954 And The Sori Yanagi Porcelain And Silverware Series. The Sori Yanagi Kettle Is Manufactured By Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd, Based In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. This Is The Center Of Cutlery And Steel Manufacturing, And The Company Produces Most Of Sori Yanagi’S Kitchenware And Tableware To This Day. This Stunning Kettle Is An Example Of Sori Yanagi’S Dedication To Creating Beautiful, Practical Objects That Enhance Everyday Life. It Is No Wonder That It Was Awarded The Good Design Award 1998.
