Rinse the rice thoroughly and add it to the Donabe with water at a ratio of 200ml per 1-Go (180ml) of polished rice. Soak the rice for 20 to 60 minutes before cooking. Place the Donabe on medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it steam with the lid closed for 10 to 20 minutes. Stir the cooked rice before serving. Avoid using the Donabe for deep frying.

Hand wash the Donabe gently with warm water after each use to maintain its glazed finish. For burnt residues, fill with water, bring to a boil, add a tablespoon of baking soda, and let it simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes before cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers to preserve the surface. Do not expose the Donabe to rapid temperature changes to prevent cracking.
