Sori Yanagi Is A Renowned Japanese Designer, Whose Works Have Been Exhibited In Prestigious Museums Like The Moma In New York And The Louvre In Paris. His Water Kettle, Designed In The 1950S, Is One Of His Most Renowned Creations And Has Won Two Awards: The Good Design Award In 1998 And The Good Design Long Life Design Award In 2013. This Water Kettle Is Equipped With A Wide Base To Ensure Rapid Heating, And It Is Compatible With All Types Of Cooktops, Including Induction Heating. Sori Yanagi Was Born In Tokyo In 1915. His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Was An Important Figure In The Promotion Of Mingei (Japanese Folk Art), And He Was Even Responsible For The Establishment Of The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan. In 1934, Sori Entered Tokyo Art School To Study Art And Architecture. Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand, Who Worked In Japan In The 1940S, Had A Huge Influence On Sori, Who Then Turned His Attention To Design And Objects More Than Paintings And Buildings. After World War Ii, Sori Designed Many Products, Including Furniture, Three-Wheeled Vehicles, An Olympic Cauldron, And Pedestrian Overpasses. The Water Kettle Was Produced In 1955 By The Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Which Is The Center Of Cutlery And Steel Manufacturing. This Company Produces Most Of The Sori Yanagi-Designed Kitchenware And Tableware.
