Features

The Ohitsu Is A Wooden Container With A Slip-On Lid Typically Used To Keep Steamed Rice In Good Condition For Eating. It Is Made From Sawara Wood, Which Is Grown Naturally And Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Trees. This Makes It Highly Water-Resistant And Durable, And It Has Natural Antibacterial Effects. The Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation Of The Ohitsu Give It A Sophisticated Appearance.

Use & Care

The Resin From The Wood May Ooze Onto The Surface, Creating A Yellowish, Sticky And Stain-Like Appearance. This Can Be Removed With Vinegar Or Ethanol Liquid (Sterilizing Alcohol). The Container Should Be Thoroughly Washed With Hot Water After Use To Remove Food Residue, Then Well-Drained, Wiped With A Dry Cloth And Dried In Cool, Well-Ventilated Places Out Of Direct Sunlight.
