Hikiyose - Combining Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship With Modern Design
Hikiyose Is A Wooden Product Made By Combining Two Traditional Japanese Manufacturing Skills, "Kijibiki" And "Yosegi". Kijibiki Involves Shaping Wooden Material Into A Bowl Using An Edged Tool And Lathe While Yosegi Involves A Combination Of Different Types Of Wood Pieces To Create A Wooden Mosaic. Designed By Kaichiro Yamada Of Kaichi Design, Hikiyose Won A Good Design Award In 2014.
Use & Care
- Avoid Long-Time Use In High Temperature And Humidity, Extreme Dryness Or Direct Sunlight, Which May Cause Cracking Or Deformation.
- Be Careful Not To Drop Or Subject To Strong Impact, As It May Cause Cracking Or Breakage. Do Not Use Harsh Scourers Or Sponges.
- Do Not Use Abrasive Agents Such As Thinner Or Benzine, As It May Cause The Coating To Come Off.
- Hikiyose Is Not Compatible With Gas Stoves, Microwaves, Or Dishwashers.
- Do Not Soak In Water For Long Periods Of Time, As It May Cause Cracking Or Bending.
- Avoid Leaving Food Inside Or Keeping It Wet, As It May Cause Staining, Mold Or Bacteria Proliferation.
- If You Mind Its Smell At First Use, Pour Hot Water In It And Wait 3 Minutes, Then Drain And Wipe Dry Before Use.
- After Use, Wash With A Soft Sponge And Neutral Detergent Dissolved In Warm Water, And Wipe Dry With A Cloth.
