Sophisticated And Durable “Hangiri” Sushi Bowl

The “Hangiri” (Or “Handai”) Is A Wooden Sushi Bowl That Is Traditionally Used To Serve Nigiri/Chirashi Sushi Or To Make Vinegared Rice. It Is Handmade By Professionals From The Kiso Region In Japan Using Sawara Wood, Which Is Known For Its Beauty And Durability. This Wood Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Trees, Giving It Higher Water Resistance And Making It Naturally Antibacterial. Plus, The Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation Give It An Elegant And Sophisticated Appearance.

Use &Amp; Care

It Is Important To Note That Resin Can Sometimes Ooze Out On The Surface, But This Is A Natural Ingredient And Is Harmless, Even If It Looks Yellow, Sticky, And Stain-Like. Vinegar Or Ethanol Liquid (Sterilizing Alcohol) Can Be Used To Wipe It Off. The Bowl Should Also Be Sufficiently Washed With (Hot) Water After Use To Make Sure There Isn’T Any Bit Of Food Left, Which Can Cause Black Stains. Afterward, It Should Be Well-Drained, Wiped With A Dry Cloth, And Dried In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Place Out Of Direct Sunlight. Leaving The Water On The Bowl Can Cause It To Shrink, Crack, And Loosen The Copper Ornamentation. It Should Also Not Be Used In A Dishwasher.
