This Product Is Designed By Sori Yanagi, A Japanese Designer Born In 1915 In Tokyo. His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Was A Proponent Of The Mingei (Japanese Folk Art) Movement And Helped To Establish The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan. Sori Studied Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In 1934 And Was Heavily Influenced By The Works Of Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand. After The Second World War, Sori Yanagi Designed A Variety Of Products, From Furniture To Olympic Cauldrons. His Most Famous Design Is The Butterfly Chair From 1954. The Product Is Manufactured By Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd, Located In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Which Is The Center Of Cutlery And Steel Manufacturing.
