The Hangiri Or Handai Is A Traditional Wooden Sushi Bowl Made Of Sawara Wood From The Kiso Region In Japan. Handmade By Experts In A Traditional Method, This Sushi Bowl Has A Beautiful Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation That Give It A Sophisticated Appearance. Sawara Wood Is Naturally High In Resin Content, Making It Highly Water Resistant, Durable And Antibacterial. Use And Care Of Handai Is Important For Its Longevity. Resin May Sometimes Ooze Out Onto Its Surface, But Is A Natural Part Of The Wood And Can Be Easily Wiped Off With Vinegar Or Ethanol. The Handai Must Be Washed With Hot Water After Use And Drained Well, Before Being Wiped With A Dry Cloth And Dried In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Space Out Of Direct Sunlight. Failure To Do So Can Lead To Cracking, Black Stains And Mold. This Bowl Is Not Suitable For Use In A Dishwasher. Miyabi Urushi Kogei Co Ltd Is Located In Kiso Region, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Japanese National Tourism Organisation Regards Kiso As “One Of The Most Beautiful Woods In Japan”. The Area Is Located In The Upper Reaches Of The Kiso River In The Southwest Of Nagano, At The Border Of Gifu. The Handai Is A Great Way To Serve Nigiri/Chirashi Sushi Or To Make Vinegared Rice, And Its Natural Antibacterial Properties Will Ensure That It Remains Safe And Hygienic For Use. Choose The Handai For A Classic Sushi Experience With A Touch Of Tradition.
