Features

The Hangiri Or Handai Is A Wooden Sushi Bowl Crafted From The Sawara Wood Found In The Kiso Region Of Japan. Handmade By Professionals Using A Traditional Method, The Hangiri Features A Beautiful Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation That Gives It A Sophisticated Look. Sawara Wood Is Highly Valued And Has Been Used For Centuries To Make Japanese Traditional Cooking Tools Such As Hangiri And Ohitsu. This Unique Wood Contains More Resin Than Other Types, Offering Greater Durability And Water Resistance And Natural Antibacterial Effects.

Use &Amp; Care

Resin May Ooze Out On The Surface Of The Hangiri, However This Is Natural And Not Harmful, Although It May Appear Yellow, Sticky, And Stain-Like. To Get Rid Of The Stickiness, It Can Be Wiped Off With Vinegar Or Sterilizing Alcohol. Yellow Stains May Remain But There Is No Risk To Safety. The Bowl Should Be Washed With Hot Water After Use To Remove Any Food Residue And Then Wiped With A Dry Cloth And Left To Dry In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Place Away From Direct Sunlight. Failing To Do This May Cause The Wood To Shrink, Creating Cracks And Loosening The Copper Ornamentation. If It Remains Wet For Too Long, It May Grow Mold Or Become Black-Stained. The Hangiri Is Not Compatible With Dishwashers.
