The Ohitsu Is A Traditional Wooden Container With A Lid, Used To Store Steamed Rice From A Rice Cooker In Order To Maintain Its Condition. It Is Handcrafted From Sawara Wood, A Type Of Wood Found In The Kiso Region, And Is Known For Its Beautiful Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation. This Wood Is Highly Durable And Naturally Resistant To Water, Making It An Excellent Material For Kitchen Tools. The Edobitsu And Nosebitsu Are Both Ohitsu, The Difference Being The Shape Of The Lid. To Maintain The Ohitsu And Keep It In Good Condition, It Is Important To Wash It With Hot Water And Wipe Off All The Remaining Water Before Drying In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Area. Resin May Ooze Out On The Surface, But This Is A Natural Ingredient And Is Harmless. Yamacoh Co., Ltd. Was Founded In 1972 In Nakatsugawa, Gifu, Japan. This Post Town Was Used To Travel Between Edo (Tokyo) And Kyoto During The Edo Period. The Company Is Dedicated To Crafting Traditional Kitchen Tools From Sawara Wood, Providing Customers With A Product That Is Durable And Of Excellent Quality.
