Background

Sori Yanagi Was The Son Of Soetsu Yanagi, Who Founded The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan. He Studied Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School, Where He Was Heavily Influenced By The Works Of Le Corbusier And Charlotte Perriand. After Wwii, Sori Went On To Design Furniture, Vehicles, And Other Objects. His Most Famous Designs Include The Butterfly Chair In 1954 And His Porcelain And Silverware Series. His Cake Server Is Manufactured By Nihon Yoshokki Co Ltd In Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
