Hangiri Lid - Features, Use & Care And Background

Hangiri Lids Are The Perfect Addition To Your Traditional Japanese Cooking Tools. These Lids Are Handmade In The Kiso Region Of Japan, And Are Made From Sawara Wood. Each Size Of Lid Is Compatible With Its Corresponding Size Of Hangiri Bowl.

Features

  • Each Lid Is Made Of Sawara Wood In The Kiso Region, And Handcrafted By Professionals In A Traditional Method. The Masame (Straight-Grain) Pattern And Copper Ornamentation Give It A Sophisticated Appearance.
  • Sawara Wood Is Naturally Grown And Contains More Resin Than Other Types Of Wood, Giving It Higher Water Resistance And Durability.

Use & Care

  • Resin Can Ooze Out On The Surface, Which Is Natural And Harmless. To Remove The Stickiness, Wipe It Off With Vinegar Or Ethanol Liquid (Sterilizing Alcohol). Some Yellow Stains May Remain, But It Is Safe To Use.
  • After Use, Wash The Lid With (Hot) Water To Remove Any Food Particles. Wipe And Dry The Lid In A Cool, Well-Ventilated Place, Away From Direct Sunlight. If Left Wet, It Can Shrink, Crack And Loosen The Copper Ornamentation. It Can Also Become Black-Stained.
  • Incompatible With Dishwashers.
