Edo Kiriko: Artisanal Craftsmanship From Japan

Edo Kiriko Is A Traditional Japanese Craftwork With A Distinguished Heritage. It Was Developed In Downtown Tokyo During The Edo Period (1603-1867). The Glass Is Melted In 1350 Degrees Heat, Then Plated With Colored Glass To Create Two Layers. Edo Kiriko Craftsmen Then Cut Each Glass By Hand, Curving Fine Designs With Their Remarkable Technique. The Two Shades Of Contrasting Colors Reflect The Light Beautifully, Accentuated By Traditional Or Flower Patterns Curved On The Surface.

Features Of Edo Kiriko

  • Black Edo Kiriko Has A Simple And Modern Design, Yet The Deep Black Color Gives A Strong Impression.
  • Nominated As The Best Traditional Art Craft In A Tokyo Competition.

Care & Use

  • Since Edo Kiriko Products Are All Handmade, There May Be Slight Differences In Color And Size. There May Also Be Small Bubbles Or Scratches, But They Don'T Affect The Quality Of The Products. Enjoy The Uniqueness Of Hand-Made Glasses.
  • Handle With Care As The Glass Is Fragile.
